Nebraska suicide prevention plans and initiatives
The Nebraska State Suicide Prevention Coalition (NSSPC) is a voluntary group made up of public and private agencies, survivors of suicide loss, and other interested stakeholders, and is recognized by the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (NDHHS) as the primary group responsible for coordinating state suicide prevention efforts. The NSSPC provides suicide prevention information and resources to organizations and families, provides means restriction material to emergency rooms for distribution to networks of support, promotes and publicizes suicide prevention efforts of other groups, including Local Outreach to Suicide Survivors (LOSS) Teams, and promotes suicide prevention training, in addition to other initiatives. The Nebraska Statewide Suicide Prevention Plan 2022-2025 provides a framework for state agencies, regional entities, community coalitions, and organizations to guide development of action plans related to suicide prevention.
