There are also ways everyone can take care of their mental health in the face of global events that may be met with trauma, grief, and fear, including taking time to disconnect from the news/social media, focusing on nutrition, sleep, exercise, and social connection, and reaching out to a mental health professional for support. It is also important to avoid things that negatively impact health, such as substance use, activating situations, and unsupportive people. We hope each of us is taking care of our mental health and well-being.
If you or a loved one are experiencing an emotional or mental health crisis or suicidal thoughts, call or text 988 or text TALK to 741741 for immediate support. You can visit findsupport.gov for mental health resources and help finding a health care professional.
