With A Program a Day in May, our goal was to reduce the stigma and myths surrounding mental health by educating our communities. We partnered with school districts, community organizations, and individuals seeking to become smarter about mental health and suicide prevention.
Dancing Our Way to Mental Health: Presenting the “It’s Real” Program for Teens
A lot of the dance families and I will often help each other out by car-pooling, which is where I interact with other dancers from the studio. I enjoy being able to help, and to hopefully be a trusted and safe adult to teens from our dance studio.
Bringing Education to Arkansas
This year, Mary worked tirelessly to spread suicide prevention education programming to the entire state.

Angela Stowe, Director of Student Counseling Services and Wellness Promotion at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, oversaw the presentation of the AFSP-produced documentary It’s Real: College Students and Mental Health on her campus this past year.
