Jennifer Carr Singleton is compassionate about helping others. Honored to spend her days as the Community Education Manager for North Harbor, an inpatient mental health hospital in Tuscaloosa, AL, Jennifer has experienced first-hand the importance of getting help for someone who is in crisis and struggling with life’s challenges.
Jennifer was delighted to have the opportunity to come alongside others in Alabama who have the same passion towards working to put an end to suicide. As a member of the American Federation for Suicide Prevention, it is Jennifer’s hope that her voice, together with the loving voices of all AFSP members, will provide promise to those individuals fighting to hold on to precious life.
Jennifer was fortunate to study at Auburn University of Montgomery, where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communication and a minor in Marketing. Her studies eventually lead her to a career in healthcare, where she has had the pleasure of assisting individuals find the right level of care for their current healthcare needs. It is Jennifer’s desire to use her 15 years’ experience in the healthcare industry for the benefit of others who are seeking help.
In addition to serving on AFSP’s Board, Jennifer also Chair’s the Tuscaloosa Mental Health Alliance’s Steering Committee. A long, time resident of Montgomery, AL, Jennifer moved to Tuscaloosa, AL, in 2017 and has enjoyed getting to meet new people and experience new places. She is a proud mom to two young men, two Yorkshire Terriers, and one large American Saddlebred horse.
