Meesha Emmett Biography
Meesha’s involvement with AFSP began in August 2013 following the death of a close friend months earlier. Since then, she has been committed to AFSP’s mission and has worked to raise awareness for suicide prevention in the Shoals area and beyond, serving as the chair of the Shoals Community Walk (Florence, AL) since its inception and as a member of the Alabama Chapter Board of Directors since 2017. In this capacity she has been trained as a facilitator for More than Sad and Talk Saves Lives and assisted with the planning and execution of the Stronger Communities Conference hosted in Birmingham in May 2018.
Meesha is native of Florence, AL and a graduate of The University of Alabama. She is currently the Director of Donor Relations and Communication for YouthServe, Inc. – a Birmingham-based nonprofit focused on youth empowerment.
