Attachment-Based Family Therapy Workshop

The Georgia Chapter is partnering with Skyland Trail and Emory Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences to offer this Attachment-Based Family Therapy (ABFT) training. ABFT is a trust-based, emotion-focused psychotherapy model designed to improve family and individual processes associated with adolescent suicide and depression. Its goal is to repair interpersonal ruptures and rebuild an emotionally protective parent-child relationship.

Suzanne A. Levy, PhD will be doing the training and is a licensed clinical psychologist and Director of the ABFT Training Program at Drexel University’s College of Nursing and Health Professions. Dr. Levy conducts ABFT training workshops and supervision for therapists nationally and internationally. She also over sees the ABFT treatment in the Drexel Center for Family Intervention Science’s clinical trials with over 10 years of experience working clinically with suicidal patients and training and supervising new ABFT therapists.

The ABFT Workshop is intended for administrators, counselors, couple and family therapists, mental health professionals, psychiatrists, psychologists, psychotherapists and social workers.
