Public Policy Associate

My experience with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention was packed with memories that will forever hold a place in my heart. Throughout my ten weeks, I was presented with a myriad of opportunities that not only helped improve my skills, but also helped accelerate my personal growth. One of my favorite aspects of serving as a Public Policy Associate was assisting in our 7th Annual Advocacy Forum. Diving into the forum was a whirlwind. In such a short period, I learned an abundance of information about AFSP’s mission, I met so many captivating individuals and I was able to attend meetings with my perspective state’s government officials. In addition to the forum, I had the pleasure of working with fantastic individuals. The office staff was welcoming and eager to teach me about the ins and outs of policy work. They always made me feel valued and were helpful in answering all of my questions. Along with this, I also enjoyed my fellow associates. They contributed to such a positive and joyful work environment that added to such an incredible experience with an even more incredible organization.
