Question: What mechanism leads cellular aging to affect brain cells in a brain area related to suicide?
Strategy: Determine if specific brain cells (oligodendrocytes) in the locus coeruleus from depressed suicide completers demonstrate advanced cellular aging compared with regions not related to suicide.
Impact: Better treatments for depressive disorders to reduce suicide.
