In the interest of creating a safe space for loss survivors, most events are specific to survivors of suicide loss. In addition, many events cannot accommodate children and teens. If you have any questions, please contact the event host directly.

Each year, the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention supports hundreds of large and small Survivor Day events around the world, in which suicide loss survivors come together to find connection, understanding and hope through their shared experience. While each event is unique and offers various programming, all feature an AFSP-produced documentary that offers a message of growth, resilience and connection.

Additional Information

I know it’s hard to believe that our annual Survivor Day event on November 23, 2019 from 11:30 am – 4:00 pm at Venice Church (2241 Walgrove Ave, L.A., CA. 90066) is right around the corner ! Although our event is not affiliated with any religious group, the generosity of the Venice church leadership has allowed us to use their amazing facility once again. The purpose of Survivor Day is to continue to support those who have lost someone to suicide by providing a safe space to grieve our loss, get to know others who share our journey, and honor our loved ones. Last year we had over 120 people in attendance at the beautiful Venice Church. Space is limited so please register early to reserve your space.

If you have any additional questions, please feel free to reach out to me directly. I don’t check this email as often, so if it is an urgent request, please feel free to text or call my cell phone (562-810-1040). Please include a reference to “survivor day” in the text for a more rapid response. I look forward to seeing you all soon for another amazing event.

My very best to all,

Robert Stohr, M.F.T
