AFSP Louisiana has set a goal to bring at least one prevention education program to every Louisiana parish – but we cannot do it alone. We’re calling for all community leaders, agencies, and stakeholders to help us bring suicide prevention to the entire state!
And we are not stopping there. As part of our stragetic initative, AFSP Louisiana and the Rain Will Bring Flowers Foundation have set a goal to bring suicide prevention education to 100,000 Louisiana students, teachers, and parents.
As of September 12, 2024, we've trained 1,041 students and teachers in mental health awareness and suicide prevention!
The Rain Will Bring Flowers Foundation has been instrumental in bringing AFSP's It's Real: Teens and Mental Health to schools across Louisiana. As of September 12, 2024 we've presented programming in the parishes of East Baton Rouge, Calcasieu, Assumption, Nachitoches, Lafourche, Terrebonne, Orleans, and West Baton Rouge. We have plans to bring programming to the parishes of Livingston, Caddo, Jefferson, and more! Follow AFSP Louisiana and The Rain Will Bring Flowers Foundation on Facebook for updates on our progress!
