AFSP North Texas

AFSP North Texas

Our AFSP North Texas team focuses on eliminating the loss of life from suicide by: delivering innovative prevention programs, public education, raising funds for suicide research and programs, and reaching out to those who struggle themselves or have lost someone to suicide. Join us to walk today!

About the AFSP North Texas Chapter

The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention's (AFSP) mission is to save lives and bring hope to those affected by suicide. Nationwide, we lead the fight to stop suicide through research, education and community programs, advocacy, and support for those impacted by suicide. The North Texas Chapter serves the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex and surrounding region from Abilene to Texarkana--and Wichita Falls to Tyler, Texas. Together, we are working to create a culture in our community that's smart about mental health.

AFSP North Texas is at the forefront of suicide prevention. As a voluntary health organization, our grassroots efforts engage families, mental health professionals, and local school, community and business leaders interested in supporting our mission. Funds raised support our lifesaving work. Join the fight to stop suicide: give the gift of hope by volunteering, registering for an event or program, advocating, donating, sponsoring, or sharing about our work!

When a loved one has made an attempt

When someone you love attempts to take their life, it can evoke a range of strong emotions. During their crisis, your loved one may have perceived themselves as being completely alone, or a burden on you and the others who love them.

Walking #TogetherToFightSuicide

North Texas Out of The Darkness Walks

These events give people the courage to open up about their own connections to the cause, and a platform to create a culture that’s smarter about mental health. Friends, family members, neighbors and coworkers walk side-by-side, supporting each other and in memory of those we’ve lost.
