Tell us a little bit about your background – personal and/or professional.
I am married with two kids (ages 17 and 10). One child is a performer and the other is an equestrian.. So, that keeps my wife and I busy.
Where did you grow up?
Coral Springs, FL
What are some of your favorite hobbies?
I enjoy yoga, meditation, and making Pizza in our backyard oven.
What might someone be surprised to learn about you?
I played a year of college football as a defensive tackle at Lehigh University despite being well short of six feet!
Why did you become involved with AFSP-SWFL?
I lost both my father and grandmother to death by suicide. Others in my family struggle so I feel compelled to try and help.
What was your first introduction to AFSP?
Through a high school classmate. We lost another classmate and his brother so he walked in their honor.
What is one of the most important things you would share with the community about AFSP?
1. How much it has truly helped me deal with my loss and being comfortable sharing it.
2. The power in connection to others who have similar experiences in mental illness and suicide.
3. The great people and work that is being done in research, community, and promoting the fight to stop suicide.
What are three unexpected items on your desk?
Hot sauce, truffle oil, and essential oil. Two help lunch at the desk, the other the scent!
