Inside the Research
Question: Is there a biomarker for medication treatment response in depression?
Strategies: Compare neural-derived miRNAs’ gene exomes in depressed patients with and without suicidal ideation on lithium vs. paliperidone. Individuals without psychiatric conditions will also be studied.
Impact: Biomarkers for individualized medication treatment for depression with suicidal ideation.
