Question: Will a brief inpatient intervention for teens and their families prevent suicidal behavior?
Strategy: Adolescents hospitalized for a suicide attempt and their families will receive motivational interviewing, safety planning and a post-discharge phone session. Coping, suicidal ideation and mood are assessed over 3 months.
Impact: An intervention to prevent repeat suicidal behavior among adolescents.
