Inside the Research

Several genetic variants have been associated with higher suicide risk. However, we do not know the exact mechanisms by which these genetic variants might increase suicide risk. This study aims to characterize the function of genetic variants associated with suicidal behavior and evaluate their interaction with other factors associated with suicide, i.e., environmental factors. Results will improve the understanding of the mechanisms involved in the genetic predisposition to suicidal behavior.
