Announcing a New Call to Action from the Surgeon General on Suicide Prevention

We at the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) are excited to announce the release of the Surgeon General's Call to Action to Implement the National Strategy to Prevent Suicide. AFSP provided input into the report and strongly endorses the 6 Key Actions needed to make progress in reducing suicide in our country.

Further, as the nation's leading not for profit suicide prevention organization, AFSP will play a major role in the implementation of strategies, programs and activities that address the 6 action areas. As with all our suicide prevention work, we will engage partners across the public, private and voluntary sectors to make a measurable and sustainable impact. Together, we will carry out the work called for in the report, and advance our mission of saving lives and bringing hope to those affected by suicide.
