Jul. 3, 2020 - Joan Asarnow, Ph.D, of the University of California at Los Angeles, discusses the crucial role of the family as a safety measure for children and teens at-risk for suicide. Dr. Asarnow uses the metaphor of a seatbelt, explaining that when parents are more receptive to listening and expressing their willingness to help, children will be more receptive to utilize these safety measures – putting the seatbelt on.
