This year, Colorado hosted six walks in Colorado Springs, Denver, Fort Collins, Fremont County, Northeast CO, and Western Slope.
The Community Walks, held in hundreds of cities across the country, are the core of the Out of the Darkness movement which began in 2004. These events give people the courage to open up about their own connections, to the cause and a platform to create a culture that is smarter about mental health. Friends, family members, neighbors, and coworkers walk side-by-side, supporting each other in memory of those we’ve lost.
AFSP Colorado Chapter was able to raise $254,512 and counting!
There were 2905 Walkers who participated as walkers, fundraisers and supporters.
Thank you to all who participated, donated, and supported our walkers!
We are powered by everyday heroes like you.
Since 1987 AFSP has grown from a grassroots network of researchers and volunteers into a national movement with chapters in all 50 states. As the largest private funder of suicide prevention research and the infrastructure we’ve built, we can deliver evidence-based programs to local communities and impact millions of people.
Now, more than ever, it’s important to be there for one another and take steps to safeguard our mental health and prevent suicide.
