A day of golf, generosity, and community connection at the Coeur d’Alene Golf Resort turned into a meaningful investment in suicide prevention across Idaho.
The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) Idaho Chapter is grateful to the Industrial Fasteners Institute (IFI) for its generous $10,000 donation following a recent golf outing at the beautiful Coeur d’Alene Golf Resort.
The event brought together approximately 100 golfers and industry professionals for an afternoon of friendly competition, networking, and giving back. Beyond the golf course, attendees came together around a shared commitment to making a positive difference in their communities.
IFI Chairman Kevin Vollmert presented the donation on behalf of the Institute and its members, with AFSP Idaho Chapter Treasurer Ryan Eden accepting the gift on behalf of the chapter.
Ryan also had the opportunity to share his personal connection to AFSP's mission, highlight the chapter's suicide prevention efforts throughout Idaho, and introduce attendees to Talk Saves Lives, AFSP's educational program that provides participants with a better understanding of suicide prevention, including risk factors, warning signs, and how to help someone who may be struggling.
The connection didn't end when the tournament concluded. Ryan continues to engage with IFI by sharing additional AFSP resources and information about Talk Saves Lives, helping turn a generous contribution into an opportunity for ongoing education, awareness, and community involvement.
Partnerships like this demonstrate the powerful impact businesses and industry organizations can have when they come together to support suicide prevention. The $10,000 gift will help advance AFSP's mission to save lives and bring hope to those affected by suicide.
The AFSP Idaho Chapter extends its heartfelt appreciation to the Industrial Fasteners Institute, its leadership, tournament participants, sponsors, and everyone who contributed to the event's success.
We also thank Ryan Eden for representing the Idaho Chapter and helping create meaningful connections that extend far beyond the golf course.
Together, we can create a culture that is smart about mental health and build a future where more lives are saved.
