Tell us a little bit about your background – personal and/or professional.
Where did you grow up?
Spring Hill, Florida
What are some of your favorite hobbies?
I love to read and travel, whether it’s getting lost in a great book or exploring new places. Both give me a chance to learn, reflect, and recharge.
I lost my brother to suicide when I was in high school, and being involved with AFSP allows me to honor his memory while offering hope to those who may be struggling. Through AFSP, I also have the opportunity to contribute to reducing the stigma around talking about suicide loss and warning signs, which I believe is so important for creating a more supportive and understanding community.
My first introduction to AFSP was when participated in an Out of the Darkness Walk.
What is one of the most important things you would share with the community about AFSP?
AFSP offers a community that truly supports healing. You are not alone, and there is hope even in the hardest moments.
What might someone be surprised to learn about you?
I have had the great privilege of living and teaching in China, Thailand, and South Africa!
What are three unexpected items on your desk?
On my desk you will find a display of positive affirmation cards, a hydrangea, and always a trusty cup of coffee.
