The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention’s 20th annual Chapter Leadership Conference took place January 30- February 2, 2025 in Houston, Texas. Each year, CLC brings together volunteers from our local chapters across the country to share thoughts and ideas, consider our accomplishments, and inspire each other to move our mission forward. All 73 local AFSP chapters were represented with 400+ in-person attendees, including staff and several leadership volunteers from the AFSP National Capital Area Chapter (NCAC).
On the final evening of the conference was the Awards Banquet, where Chapters were recognized for outstanding performance. We are excited to share that the NCAC was recognized with four AFSP Chapter Leadership Awards:
- Outstanding Survivors of Suicide Loss Day
- Outstanding Chapter Public Relations
- #5 Top Fundraising Walk: Washington, D.C.
- Century Club Walk: Fairfax, VA

The AFSP-NCAC thanks our chapter leadership, volunteers, participants, donors, sponsors, fundraisers, community partners, and everyone who supported the NCAC in 2024. These awards are a direct reflection of your hard work and dedication to our lifesaving mission and, without you, they would not be possible.
To celebrate these incredible achievements and the AFSP-NCAC supporters who made them possible, we hope you will join us at our FREE Lifesavers Appreciation Celebration on May 1st at the Pepco Edison Place Gallery in NW Washington, D.C.
Thank you again for your support, and we look forward to working together with you to fight suicide in 2025!
