Oklahoma Chapter Wins BIG at CLC

The AFSP Oklahoma Chapter Board of Directors believe that the most important things the chapter can do is to focus on suicide prevention education throughout the state.  With this focus in mind, the chapter created a strategy to increase the number of presenters, increase presenter communications and expand partnerships with mental health organizations throughout the state.

In 2024 the Oklahoma Chapter experiencedd a 456% growth in education. The chapter attended PRIDE and took part in a documentary that focused on suicide prevention and firearms. The number of presenters grew 235% and with Family & Children's Services suicide prevention was presented to over 1800 students in the Jenks School District. In addition to Family & Children's Services collaboration, the Oklahoma Chapter has partnered with 13 mental health organizations, 9 educational systems, 4 tribal systems, 2 churches and 1 corporation.

The Oklahoma Chapter is always looking to expand its reach across the state.  If you are interested in suicide prevention education, please contact Tami Kellar, AFSP Oklahoma Chapter, Area Director ([email protected]).
