Question: Is the blood-brain barrier compromised in suicide?
Strategy: Compare features of the blood-brain barrier that protects the brain in people who died by suicide with those with psychiatric disorders and nonpsychiatric controls, none of whom died by suicide.
Impact: A marker of suicide risk that can be observed with conventional imaging techniques.
