Question: Do blood levels of polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) help predict suicide attempts?
Strategy: Examine the relationships among PUFA levels, cholesterol, and suicide attempts in a sample of 90 well-characterized people seen in an emergency department and then followed for two years.
Impact: A potential biomarker for suicidal behavior.
